NEWS | SHOWBIZ

The Severn's Showbiz and Entertainment News for Friday 29th August:

FIONA PHILLIPS
TV presenter Fiona Phillips is leaving GMTV after twelve years.

Her agent's confirmed the forty-seven year old will quit the programme at the
end of this year.

She says she wants to devote more time to her children and her elderly father.

MICHAEL JACKSON
The King of Pop turns fifty today.

Michael Jackson was born in 1958 and has been performing since he was eleven.

Jacko's been a virtual recluse since being cleared of child abuse in 2005 but
there are rumours he's planning a comeback to celebrate his birthday.

KELLY OSBOURNE
Kelly Osbourne says she's fine after bashing her head and giving herself a
black eye.

The TV presenter was out in dark glasses last night at the premiere of the
short film she stars in with Sadie Frost, The Town that Boars Me.

She says she wishes she had a rock and roll story to tell, but she just stood
up in her kitchen without closing the cupboard door.

LAST CHOIR STANDING
Myleene Klass says this weekend's Last Choir Standing final is too close to
call.

The last three go head-to-head tomorrow night for the title.

MICHAEL JACKSON
Michael Jackson says life went too fast as he celebrates the big 5-0.

The pop legend's stepped out in Las Vegas ahead of his landmark birthday but
forgot just how old he was.

He asked onlookers if he looked ok for forty.

When someone reminded him of his real age he said he wished he could do it all
again.

STRICTLY COME DANCING
A TV chef, a political reporter and an ex-Eastender will be rubbing shoulders
on the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Gary Rhodes, John Sergeant and Jesse Wallace are among the celebrities hitting the ballroom.

Presenter Bruce Forsyth will, again, be donning his tap shoes.
